The Story
A UK-based client approached us to create a dedicated lounge and event space in San Francisco, designed to complement their wider event programme.
The space needed to provide a relaxed environment for intimate talks, presentations, networking, workspaces and exhibitor showcases. Working within a warehouse venue, we were responsible for developing the spatial design, sourcing requirements and delivery strategy to transform the space into an engaging and functional visitor experience.
The Challenge
The project was delivered entirely through remote collaboration, requiring us to develop the design using venue plans, surveys and recorded footage rather than traditional site visits.
The space needed to be installed quickly while maintaining a considered and welcoming atmosphere. We also needed to work within the existing venue character, making use of available furniture where possible while introducing additional elements that improved comfort, functionality and brand experience.
Sustainability was a key consideration, with all additions needing to have a clear reuse or recycling plan after the event.
The Solution
Using digital tools and detailed venue information, we developed the spatial layout, furniture strategy and visitor flow remotely.
We combined existing venue furniture with carefully selected rental items from local suppliers, creating a cohesive environment while reducing unnecessary costs and waste. Visualisations and renders helped the client understand the proposed experience and make confident decisions before installation.
Alongside design development, we coordinated sourcing, procurement and project guidance, ensuring suppliers and event teams had clear documentation to deliver the space efficiently.
The Outcome
The completed lounge created a calm and engaging environment where visitors could attend presentations, connect with others, work and take time away from the main event space.
The project was delivered successfully through remote collaboration, with the client highly satisfied with the design, planning and smooth installation process. All elements were reused or recycled after the event, supporting the project's sustainability goals.
Impact
A flexible event environment created from an existing warehouse space, demonstrating that thoughtful design and careful planning can deliver memorable experiences without the need for unnecessary waste.
Through remote delivery, sustainable choices and considered spatial planning, we created a space that supported connection, learning and engagement for visitors from around the world.
